What Thai Massage Actually Is

Traditional Thai massage — nuad boran in Thai — is roughly 2,500 years old and it is not an oil massage. You stay fully clothed in loose cotton. No oil is used. The therapist works along the body’s energy lines with palms, thumbs, forearms, elbows and feet, and moves you through assisted stretches you could not reach on your own. Clients usually describe it as being put through yoga by someone else.

That is what most people mean when they search for Thai massage in Dubai, and it is what our Thai therapists were trained in. If what you actually want is the gentle, oil-based, drift-off-to-sleep kind of massage, that is a different treatment — and we do that too. The table below is the fastest way to tell which one you want before you book the wrong thing.

Traditional Thai or Oil Massage — Which One You Actually Want

Not sure? Say so when you book. The therapist will ask two or three questions on arrival and can run the session either way, or blend the two.

The Treatments We Bring to Your Door

Every therapist on the team is trained across the full list, so you are not limited by who happens to be free. Tell us the problem rather than the treatment name if you are not sure — we will match it.

Traditional Thai massage

Clothed, no oil, pressure along the energy lines with assisted stretching. The original, and still the most requested.

Deep tissue massage

Slow, firm, and concentrated on one or two problem areas rather than the whole body. For knots that have been there for months.

Swedish massage

Oil-based, long flowing strokes, medium pressure. The safest choice if you have never had a massage before.

Aromatherapy and full body relaxation

Oil, warm room, slower pace, scented blends. Booked for sleep and stress rather than for a specific complaint.

Thai foot massage and reflexology

Feet, ankles and lower legs, with a stick and thumb technique. For people who stand all day or fly constantly.

Sports massage

Built around what you train and when you next compete. Pre-event, post-event, or maintenance between sessions.

Four hands massage

Two therapists working in mirrored rhythm at the same time. Book this one further ahead — it needs two people free at once.

Moroccan massage

Warm oil and firm, sweeping strokes in the North African tradition. Merry is Moroccan and trained in it.

Slimming massage

Firm, repetitive work on the abdomen, hips and thighs, usually booked as a course rather than as a one-off.

VIP and couples sessions

Two therapists in the same room, or an extended session with your choice of therapist. Common in hotels and on special occasions.

Full details and session lengths are on the massage services page. Treatments are suitable for younger adults, older clients and, with a parent present, for children.

We are not the cheapest, and here is why

When we checked advertised home-massage rates across Dubai in September 2026, they ran from about AED 199 to AED 450 for sixty minutes. We sit in the upper half of that. The difference is what is inside the price: a DHA-licensed therapist rather than an unlicensed one, the taxi both ways, a therapist you can request by name, and equipment and linen that belong to us rather than to your bathroom.

You get the full price in writing first

Before anyone sets off you receive the treatment, the session length, the therapist’s name, the total price and an arrival window. Nothing is added at your door. If a price ever sounds different to that, stop and ask — that is not us.

Current offers are on the massage deals page, and there is a fuller breakdown of what massage costs in Dubai on our guide to choosing a massage.

Home Massage or a Thai Massage Centre — The Honest Comparison

A good spa is a good spa. But most people searching for a Thai massage centre in Dubai are really trying to solve a problem that a centre is bad at solving.

You do not drive home afterwards

The hour after a deep Thai session is the part that does the work. Spending it in a car on Sheikh Zayed Road undoes a good deal of it. At home you stay where you are.

No appointment slot to negotiate

Centres run on a diary. We run on who is free now. That is why late-night and same-day bookings are ordinary here rather than a favour.

Your own bathroom, your own bed

For a lot of clients — particularly women booking for the first time, and anyone with children asleep in the next room — that is the whole reason they call us instead.

Where a centre is genuinely better

If you want a steam room, a sauna, a pool or a hammam afterwards, book a spa. We bring a massage, not a building. We would rather say that than pretend otherwise.

Who Books Us

People who sit at a desk all week

Necks and shoulders that locked up over months, not days. Thai stretching tends to reach these better than pressure on its own.

Residents who have tried an oil massage and wanted more

Clients who found a relaxation massage pleasant but not useful usually get on far better with the stretching side of traditional Thai.

Hotel guests

Arriving off a long flight, in a room, at an hour when the hotel spa has closed. We work in hotels across Dubai and the therapist arrives in professional uniform with her own equipment.

Parents

Booking after the children are asleep, without arranging a sitter or leaving the building.

People who train

Runners, gym regulars and padel players who need hip flexors and hamstrings opened up rather than soothed.

Clients who want the same therapist again

A large share of our bookings are repeat bookings. If you have had someone before, say the name — she will usually remember what you needed last time.

We serve 20+ clients a day across Dubai, and 99% of the feedback we receive is positive.

What Thai Massage Helps With

Neck and shoulder tension

The most common reason people call us. Usually desk posture, phone posture, or sleeping awkwardly.

Lower back stiffness

Thai work opens the hips and hamstrings, which is often where a stiff lower back actually comes from.

Tight hips and hamstrings

Sitting for ten hours a day shortens both. Assisted stretching reaches them in a way self-stretching rarely does.

Poor sleep

An oil-based session late in the evening is the usual recommendation here, rather than deep Thai.

Stress that has settled in the body

Jaw, shoulders, upper back. Clients often do not notice it until someone presses.

Tired, swollen legs and feet

Long-haul crew, retail staff, nurses and anyone on their feet all day. Foot reflexology, usually.

Training recovery

Between sessions, not the day before a race unless you already know how your body reacts.

Simply not having switched off in months

A perfectly good reason to book. It does not have to hurt somewhere first.

What Thai Massage Does Not Do

Most massage websites in Dubai will not write this section. It matters more than the list above, because booking the wrong thing wastes your money and our therapist’s evening.

This is a professional therapeutic service only

Our therapists provide licensed, clinical-standard massage and nothing else. Any request outside that ends the session immediately and the full fee still applies. We would rather be blunt on the homepage than have anyone waste a booking.

It does not diagnose anything

A therapist can tell you a muscle is tight. She cannot tell you why, and she will not try.

It does not fix a structural problem

A disc issue, a trapped nerve or a torn muscle needs a doctor or a physiotherapist. Massage can make you more comfortable alongside that treatment; it does not replace it.

It is not a weight-loss treatment

Slimming massage can help with circulation, fluid and how the skin looks. It does not remove fat, and anyone telling you otherwise is selling something.

One session is not a cure

Tension built over two years does not leave in sixty minutes. Most clients with a long-standing problem feel the real difference at the second or third session.

It should not leave you in pain

Firm and uncomfortable is normal in Thai work. Sharp, burning or radiating is not. Say so and the therapist changes what she is doing immediately.

When to Check With a Doctor First

We will still take your booking in most of these cases — we would just rather you asked someone qualified before you did. Tell us at the time of booking so the therapist arrives knowing.

  • Pregnancy, at any stage
  • Recent surgery, or stitches that have not fully healed
  • A fracture, a fresh sprain or a suspected tear
  • Blood clots, DVT, or blood-thinning medication
  • Uncontrolled high blood pressure or a heart condition
  • Active infection, fever or a contagious skin condition
  • Cancer treatment, current or recent
  • Severe osteoporosis

None of this is an automatic no. It changes which treatment we send, how firm it is, and which areas the therapist avoids.

Your Session, Step by Step

1. The therapist arrives

In professional black uniform, carrying a folding massage bed, laundered linen, towels and oils. Nothing of yours is used.

2. Two minutes of questions

What is bothering you, what you do all day, what pressure you like, and anything that is off limits.

3. Setting up

The bed goes up in three or four minutes. It needs about two metres by one and a half. You do not need to move furniture in advance.

4. You get comfortable

Loose clothes for traditional Thai. For oil treatments you undress to your own comfort and stay covered by a towel throughout.

5. The session starts slowly

Lighter work first so the therapist can read how your body responds before going deeper.

6. Pressure is checked, not assumed

She will ask. Answer honestly — being polite about pressure is the single most common reason people leave a session disappointed.

7. The deep work

The middle of the session, concentrated on whatever you named at the start.

8. Winding down

Lighter strokes and slower stretches for the last few minutes so you are not jolted out of it.

9. She packs up and leaves

Bed folded, linen bagged for laundering, everything taken with her. You are left with the room as it was and nothing to tidy.

Pressure and Technique — How to Ask for What You Want

You do not need the vocabulary. “Too much”, “more” and “stay there” are all a therapist needs, and you can say them at any point.

As a rough guide: light is for relaxation and sleep; medium is what most people mean when they say they want a proper massage; firm is where deep tissue starts and where you should expect it to be uncomfortable in a good way. Traditional Thai sits at medium to firm by nature, because the stretching does much of the work.

Two things worth knowing. Pressure that makes you hold your breath is too much — your muscle is bracing against it and nothing useful is happening. And deeper is not better: a skilled therapist working at medium on the right spot beats a heavy one working hard on the wrong one.

If It Is Your First Thai Massage

You stay clothed, and you are never uncovered

Traditional Thai is done fully dressed. For oil treatments you are covered with a towel the entire time and only the area being worked on is uncovered.

You can stop at any moment

No explanation needed. Say stop and the session stops.

You do not have to talk

Most clients go quiet after five minutes and our therapists do not fill the silence.

Somebody will be with you if you want

A partner, a friend or a family member in the room is completely normal and never a problem.

You choose male or female

Say which when you book. If we cannot match it for your time slot we tell you rather than sending whoever is free.

Preparing the Room, and What the Therapist Brings

Space

About two metres by one and a half, on a flat floor. A living room, a bedroom or a hotel room all work.

Temperature

A little warmer than you would normally keep it. You will be still for an hour and the body cools faster than people expect.

Light and sound

Lamps rather than the ceiling light, and the television off. Bring your own music if you like — the therapist is happy either way.

What you do not need

No bed to prepare, no towels to find, no oil to buy. She brings all of it.

Hygiene

Linen and towels are used for one client and then laundered — never carried from one booking to the next. The bed is wiped down before and after every session. Oils travel with the therapist and leave with her.

Hotels

Confirm visitor access with reception before the therapist arrives. Most Dubai hotels are straightforward about it; a few ask guests to meet visitors in the lobby, and it saves time to know which yours is.

The Therapists Who Come to Your Home

We are a Thai-owned home massage service with a team of 25+ staff. Every therapist has eight or more years of experience, is qualified, and is licensed and verified by the Dubai Health Authority. You can ask for any of them by name, and we will tell you honestly if they are not free rather than sending someone else and hoping.

Our Thai therapists

Nancy, Nuna and Candy trained in Thailand, along with Toto, one of our male therapists.

Arabic-speaking therapists

Maryam and Rania are Arab female therapists, and Faryal is Tunisian.

The rest of the named team

Preethy from India, Nadia from Indonesia, Merry from Morocco, Adnan from Pakistan and Kofi, our other male therapist.

Male or female — your choice, stated up front

Say which you want when you book. Requests for a female therapist are the majority and are never treated as unusual; male therapists are available for clients who prefer one.

Languages

Every therapist works in Arabic and English. Between them the team also speaks Thai, Hindi, Indonesian and Urdu. If you would rather explain what hurts in your own language, ask when you book.

Why the DHA licence is the question to ask

A good deal of what is advertised as home massage in Dubai is not licensed at all. Ours are. Ask us, and ask the next service you call — the answer tells you most of what you need to know.

The full team is on the massage therapists page.

Around the Clock — Including Tonight

We take bookings 24 hours a day, every day. Late-night sessions are ordinary here rather than an exception, and there is no night surcharge — a 2am booking costs what a 2pm booking costs.

Same day and right now

Most same-day requests are covered. Whether we can reach you within the hour depends on which therapist is free and where she is coming from, and we will tell you the real answer rather than an optimistic one.

Booking ahead

Worth doing for four hands, for couples sessions, and if you want one specific therapist at a specific time.

Ramadan and public holidays

We work through both. Timings shift during Ramadan, with most bookings falling after iftar.

Where We Come To, and How Fast

We are based in Dubai Marina and cover the whole city. In the central and coastal communities a therapist is usually with you in about 25 to 30 minutes once the booking is confirmed; further out, or at peak traffic, it takes longer. You get an honest arrival window before you confirm, not a slogan. There is no travel charge anywhere in Dubai — the taxi is inside the price.

Areas with their own page

Dubai Marina · JLT · Business Bay · Sheikh Zayed Road · Jumeirah · Jumeirah 1 · Al Barsha · Karama · TECOM · Jebel Ali · Discovery Gardens · Dubai Sports City

Everywhere else we cover

Downtown Dubai, DIFC, Palm Jumeirah, City Walk, Al Wasl, Umm Suqeim, The Greens and Views, JVC, Arjan, Motor City, Dubai Hills, Mirdif, Deira, Bur Dubai, Al Nahda, Silicon Oasis, Dubai South and the Creek. If your community is not listed, ask — the answer is almost always yes.

Hotel and in-room massage

We work in hotels and serviced apartments across the city, including the Marina, Downtown, Palm Jumeirah, Deira and along Sheikh Zayed Road. The therapist arrives in professional uniform with her own equipment. Confirm visitor policy with reception first, and give us the hotel name, the room number and the best way for her to reach you.

Afterwards

The first few hours

Drink more water than usual. Avoid a heavy meal, alcohol and a hard gym session. A hot shower is fine; a scalding one on an area that was worked deeply is not. If you can, do nothing for an hour.

The next day or two

Mild soreness after deep or Thai work is normal — it should feel like the day after exercise, not like an injury, and it should fade within about 48 hours. Gentle movement helps more than rest. Sharp pain, bruising or anything that is getting worse rather than better is not normal: tell us.

How often is worth it

For a specific problem, weekly for two or three weeks, then space it out. For general maintenance, every two to four weeks is what most of our regular clients settle on. Once a year, before a holiday, is pleasant but will not change anything.

Booking, Payment and Changes

How to book

Message us on WhatsApp with your area or hotel, the treatment or the problem, the session length, and whether you want a male or female therapist — or a therapist by name. That is enough to get a firm answer.

What we send back

The therapist’s name, the treatment, the session length, the total price and an arrival window. In writing, before anyone leaves.

Payment

Paid to the therapist at the end of the session. No deposit is taken to make a booking.

Changing or cancelling

Tell us as early as you can and there is no charge. Once a therapist has already travelled to you, be fair to her.

If something is wrong

Say it during the session, not afterwards in a review. Pressure, room temperature, the area being worked, the music — all of it can be changed in the moment, and the therapist would much rather you said so.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Thai massage supposed to hurt?

No. It is often firm and sometimes intense, especially in the stretches, but it should never be sharp or painful. If it is, say so and the therapist changes what she is doing.

Do I have to undress?

Not for traditional Thai — you stay dressed in loose clothing. For oil treatments you undress to your own comfort and are covered by a towel the whole time.

Is home massage legal in Dubai?

Yes, when it is delivered by licensed therapists. Ours are licensed and verified by the Dubai Health Authority.

Can I ask for a specific therapist?

Yes. Say the name when you book and we will confirm whether she is free before anything is agreed.

What if the therapist I want is not available?

We tell you, and offer an alternative by name. We never substitute silently.

Can two people book at the same time?

Yes — two therapists in the same room or in separate rooms. Book a little further ahead for this one.

Do you bring a massage bed?

Yes. A folding professional bed, freshly laundered linen, towels and oils all travel with the therapist.

How much space do I need?

About two metres by one and a half on a flat floor. No furniture needs moving in advance.

Can I book during pregnancy?

Check with your doctor first. With their approval we send a therapist briefed on which techniques and positions to avoid.

Can I book for an older relative?

Yes, and it is a common booking. Tell us about mobility, medication and any recent surgery so the session is adjusted properly.

Do you charge more for my area, or for late at night?

No. No travel charge anywhere in Dubai and no night surcharge. The taxi is inside the price both ways.

Is tipping expected?

Not at all. It is appreciated and never assumed, and nobody will be awkward if you do not.

Can somebody stay in the room with me?

Yes. A partner, friend or family member in the room is completely normal.

How soon will I feel the benefit?

Usually immediately for tension and sleep. A long-standing problem typically takes two or three sessions before the change holds.

Mobile therapists serve homes, hotels and villas across Dubai, with instant booking available when a therapist is available for the requested location and treatment. Typical arrival is 25–30 minutes after the location and appointment details are confirmed, although therapist availability, traffic, building access and the customer’s area can affect travel time.

Traditional Thai Massage at Home in Dubai

Traditional Thai massage is usually a more active treatment than a simple relaxation massage. It generally combines rhythmic pressure with assisted stretching and guided movement. Pressure and movement should stay within your comfort, so tell the therapist if you want an area avoided or an adjustment during the session. The exact setup can vary; ask about clothing, oil use, equipment and room requirements when you make your enquiry. Choose this treatment if you prefer a more active session that combines pressure and assisted movement; pressure and stretching can be adjusted throughout.

What to Expect from Our Thai Massage Home Service

After you book, the therapist travels to the confirmed Dubai location. Before the session begins, share your preferred pressure, focus areas and any areas you want avoided. Ask during booking about clothing, oil use, equipment and the amount of space needed, as the setup can vary by treatment. Hotel guests should confirm visitor access with reception. Your booking message will confirm the treatment, session length, total price and estimated arrival window.

Thai Massage Sessions and Prices

Selected 60-minute massage sessions are available from AED 350. This is a starting price for selected sessions, not a promise that every treatment or location has the same price. Before confirming, we provide the treatment, session length, location, total price and estimated arrival window. Review our session prices and current deals, then ask whether any building-access or parking detail affects the booking.

Choosing the Right Massage Treatment

  • Traditional Thai massage: rhythmic pressure and assisted stretching with an active treatment style.
  • Deep tissue massage: slower, focused pressure for clients who prefer firmer work on selected areas.
  • Sports massage: a session organized around physical activity and the areas you identify during booking.
  • Thai foot massage: focused work for the feet and lower legs.

Comfort, Safety and Before-Session Guidance

Massage is a wellness service and is not a substitute for medical diagnosis or treatment. Ask a healthcare professional before booking if you are pregnant, recovering from surgery or injury, taking blood-thinning medicine, or managing a significant health condition. Tell us about relevant mobility needs when making your enquiry, and tell the therapist about pressure preferences or areas to avoid before the session begins. You can ask for pressure or movement to be adjusted at any time. For hotel or apartment visits, share reception, security, lift or parking instructions during booking to help avoid access delays.
